Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

The Role and Team

 

We are currently on the lookout for a motivated and skilled Platform Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Terraform, Azure, and Azure DevOps pipelines. While our company is firmly rooted in using Azure for the foreseeable future, we value adaptability. Therefore, the successful candidate should be ready to learn and transition to other cloud infrastructures if necessary. 

 

This role is based on site 3 days per week at our Head offices in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure and Deployment: 

  • Design, develop, and manage infrastructure projects using Terraform and Azure. 
  • Collaborate with data Analytics and development teams to understand Azure Resource requirements and translate these into actionable Terraform scripts for deployment. 
  • Ensure the reliability and scalability of cloud infrastructure. 

Incident Response and Troubleshooting: 

  • Act as the primary contact for cloud application incidents; respond promptly to downtime or disruptions. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the cloud environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. 

Best Practices and Security: 

  • Adhere to industry best practices for cloud management, including application security, governance, identity management, and monitoring. 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest in cloud technology and security to ensure our infrastructure remains secure and efficient. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Work closely with various teams to ensure that infrastructure needs are met and aligned with business objectives. 
    • Provide clear documentation and communication regarding infrastructure changes, updates, and incident responses. 

Qualifications/Personal Qualities

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Proficient in Terraform and Azure. 
  • Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and related CI/CD tools.
